Show how design comes to life.
Twelve Instagram ideas that let your design studio show its process, craft and attitude.
On paper there were lots of ideas, and one remained. This is what the path to a logo looks like for us. #logodesign #graphicdesign

From sketch to logo
Show the first pencil sketches next to the finished logo. Clients see that a lot of thinking goes into a simple mark.

The rejected design
Present a design that didn't make it and explain why. It shows that you have reasons for your decisions.
Example This design was beautiful, but on a small rubber stamp it would have been unreadable. That is why we rejected it.
- 03
Typefaces compared
Set the same company name in two or three typefaces side by side. You instantly see how much type changes the impression.
Example Same name, three typefaces, three completely different companies. Which one would you call? #typography

Paper samples on the table
Photograph paper types, finishes or embossing from above. On a phone, texture only comes across with good close-ups.
Example Today was about touching, not clicking: we chose papers for a new business card.
- 05
A proof from the printer
Show the moment the first proof arrives and how you check the colours. It makes clear that your work doesn't end at the screen.
Example The proof has arrived and we are checking every colour in daylight. Only then does the full run go to print.
- 06
Colour explained
A text tile in your colours about a simple question, such as why a red looks different on screen than on paper.
Example On screen it glows, on paper it looks more muted. That is because screens work with light and print works with ink.
- 07
A look at the workspace
Your desk, your pens, your screen with work in progress. People book people, not just portfolios.
Example This is where most ideas are born, usually with too much coffee and too little space on the desk. ☕
- 08
The finished project in use
Photograph the work where it does its job: the sign above the door, the menu on the table, the packaging on the shelf. Only with the client's consent.
Example It is lovely to see your own work out in real life. The new sign is up and we are just as pleased as the client.
- 09
A small tip for the self-employed
Practical advice clients can use straight away, such as why a logo also has to work in black and white.
Example A good logo also has to work in black and white, for example on a rubber stamp or in a newspaper ad. Try it with yours.

What a briefing needs
A tile with the questions you ask at the start of every project. It takes away uncertainty before the first meeting.
Example Before we design, we ask: who should see it, what should stick, and where will it be used? The answers save many rounds of corrections later.

Close-up
Get really close to a detail: a ligature, an embossing, a colour gradient. Pictures like these stand out in the feed.
Example Sometimes it is just one small detail that makes a design special. Here it is the embossing in the paper.

Open for new projects
Say honestly when you have capacity again and for what kind of projects. Clear messages bring the right enquiries.
Example From next month we have room for new projects again, ideally brand identities for small businesses. Just drop us a line.
