Our lunch menu for this week is set. Soup, a main course and a small dessert, served quickly for everyone who only has a short break.

Why it usually gets left undone.

Service comes first

Lunchtime and evenings are packed, and in between there is shopping and prep. Posts get left undone, even though the dishes would look great in photos.

Guests search online first

Before anyone books a table, they look on Instagram to see what the food and the place look like. An old profile looks as if the restaurant has closed.

A seasonal menu with no audience

You change your menu with the seasons, but apart from your regulars, nobody finds out.

Where the topics come from.

From your menu

New seasonal dishes, the lunch menu, house classics, vegetarian alternatives and desserts.

From your kitchen

Deliveries of fresh produce, prep in the morning, the team at the pass and the producers you buy from.

From your restaurant

The laid table, the terrace in summer, parties and Christmas parties, gift vouchers and closing days.

An example week.

How Pipeflow could plan a week for you.

Monday: A skill from the kitchen

A photo of hands shaping dumplings or rolling out pasta dough. It shows that you still make things yourself and makes people want to visit right at the start of the week.

Wednesday: What goes with it in the glass

A photo of the dish of the week next to a matching glass of wine or homemade cordial. It gives guests an idea for the evening and shows that you advise on drinks too.

Friday: Book for the weekend

A text tile with your phone number or booking link and the kitchen hours on Saturday and Sunday. Many people plan their weekend on Friday, and that is exactly when your restaurant should be in their feed.

    The morning delivery

A photo of the fresh crates of vegetables or fish. It shows that you cook from fresh.

    Example
This is how our day starts: fresh vegetables from the farm, before the first guests arrive. That's what we're cooking today.
  2. 02

    Who's at the stove?

A portrait of the chef at the pass, with their consent. People are what make a restaurant.

    Example
She's at the pass every day, making sure every plate goes out just as it should. Without our kitchen team, nothing would happen here.
  3. 03

    The house classic

The dish guests keep coming back for, nicely presented. Classics build recognition.

    Example
Some dishes never come off the menu. Our schnitzel is one of them, and if we tried, there would be protests.

Tips for restaurants.

State your kitchen hours clearly

Opening hours and kitchen hours are not the same thing, and that is what leaves guests disappointed at half past two. Put in your profile bio until when hot food is served, and keep it up to date on Google as well.

Take photos before service

The best light is usually by the window in the morning, not under the lamp at the pass in the evening. Plate the new dish once just for the camera before lunch service starts, so you have the calm to do it properly.

Be careful with vegan and gluten free

If you call a dish vegan or gluten free, your kitchen really has to prepare it that way. Phrase things carefully and refer questions to the staff who know the allergen information.

Announce the season a week ahead

Asparagus, chanterelles, game, St Martin's goose: the seasons in Austria come round every year. Announce them a week in advance instead of on the first day, so regulars have time to plan a table.

How Pipeflow helps.

From your website

Pipeflow reads what you offer and plans posts from it. No website? A few sentences about your business are enough.

With images

Photos from your website, your own photos, AI images or text tiles in your colours.

FAQ.

Can I post today's special at short notice?

Yes. You can edit a planned post, add your own photo and post it straight away.

Does Pipeflow take reservations?

No. Pipeflow has no connection to booking or till systems and doesn't answer messages. It plans and publishes posts.

What if a dish is no longer on the menu?

You see every post beforehand and can change it or have it rewritten. With your feedback, Pipeflow learns what to avoid in future.

What do I do about a critical comment under a post?

Reply calmly, factually and promptly, without justifying yourself or mentioning details about the guest. Others are reading along and mainly notice how you handle criticism. If something really did go wrong, it is fine to say so.

Should I photograph guests while they eat?

Only with permission, and even then preferably from behind or with the table as the focus. Nobody wants to end up online mid bite. A nicely laid table or a plate in a server's hand is just as inviting.

What do I post when the menu hasn't changed for a while?

Then tell people what is happening around it: who cooks, where the potatoes come from, how a classic dish is made. Pipeflow plans different topics from your website, and you only approve them.
